Post Description

Learn a wide range of bass grooves across various styles and harmonic situations.

Thousands of young musicians pilgrimage to the Big Apple to make a name for themselves on the bandstand or in the studio with established players. As you can imagine, NYC is highly competitive, good gigs are scarce and top players usually go with other top players — its not easy.

Most wind up on a bus back home, but that’s not the case with monster bass player Teymur Phell who is a rising star on the scene recording and performing with top tier players. We’re thrilled to welcome Teymur to the family with his first TrueFire course, 30 Groove Master Bass Lines You MUST Know.

Fortunately for we bass players, Teymur’s teaching chops rival his playing chops. Across this collection of 30 bass lines, Teymur guides you through a wide range of bass grooves, in a variety of styles, over a wide variety of harmonic situations.

Two very important skills that every pro bass player must have command of — being able to play in any style of music, and being able to play over any set of changes. The bass lines, techniques and approaches that you’ll learn in this course will help you develop the skills you need to create your own grooves, in any musical situation.

Teymur organized the 30 bass lines into 5 groups. Each group focuses on a different set of changes, which you’ll learn to play in a distinctive variety of styles: Funk, Shuffle, Reggae, Jazz Half Time, Walking Bass, Bossa Nova, Salsa, Samba, Slap Funk, 16th Funk, R&B, Rock & Roll, R&B Thumb Mute,Mambo, Cha Cha, Bomba, Songo and Slap Salsa.

For example you’ll start out with a 12-bar blues in F and work on 5 different grooves; an 8th-note oriented funk bass line, a shuffle, a reggae, a half-time jazz feel and then a walking bass groove — all over the same changes.
You’ll play you way through the entire course, putting everything you learn immediately to work over rhythm tracks.

Teymur demonstrates the bass lines over rhythm tracks and then breaks them down by stepping you through the key concepts, techniques and creative approaches he used in the performance.

All of the bass lines are tabbed and notated for your practice, reference and study purposes. You’ll also get Guitar Pro files so that you can play, loop and/or slow down the tab and notation as you work through the lessons. Plus, Teymur generously includes all of the rhythm tracks for you to work with on your own.

Grab your bass and let’s groove with Teymur Phell!

nJoy!
