Fleetwood Mac Albums
Collection 1968-2019

Fleetwood Mac is een oorspronkelijk Britse band. De band 
werd in 1967 opgericht door Peter Green (zang, gitaar en 
mondharmonica). Oorspronkelijk bestond de band uit Peter 
Green en Mick Fleetwood (drums), Jeremy Spencer (gitaar) 
en Bob Brunning (bas). Fleetwood Mac begon als bluesband 
en heette oorspronkelijk Peter Green´s Fleetwood Mac. In 
eerste instantie is John McVie bij de Bluesbreakers gebleven 
maar hij heeft in een later stadium Bob Brunning vervangen. 
Na het vertrek van Peter Green bleef de naam Fleetwood Mac. 
Mick Fleetwood en John McVie zijn vanaf dan ook de constan-
te factor in de groep gebleven. De groep evolueerde in de loop 
der jaren tot een popgroep met steeds wisselende bezettingen. 
In Nederland en België zijn ze vooral bekend door hun hits als 
Go your own way, Dreams, Everywhere en Little lies. Stevie 
Nicks heeft aan 'CBS news' verklaard, dat Fleetwood Mac in 
2013 weer gaat optreden met dezelfde bezetting als in 2009. 
In Europa staan 15 optredens gepland, waaronder twee in 
Amsterdam. Zowel Stevie, Lindsey als Mick Fleetwood hebben 
bevestigd dat er ook een nieuwe CD uitkomt. Stevie en Lindsey 
hebben al 2 nummers opgenomen en begin 2013 komen ze 
weer 6 weken bij elkaar. Ook hebben Lindsey en Mick al 8 
nummers samen opgenomen. 2013 wordt het jaar van 
Fleetwood Mac, aldus Stevie. Onverwacht werd in januari 2014 
aangekondigd dat de toen 70-jarige Christine McVie terugkeer-
de. John McVie is inmiddels hersteld van zijn ziekte. Hiermee 
was de Rumours bezetting voor het eerst in bijna twintig jaar 
weer compleet. In 2014-2015 vond de "On with the Show tour" 
plaats waarbij twee concerten in het Ziggo Dome en één in het 
Sportpaleis Antwerpen werden gegeven. De band gaat tevens 
opnieuw de studio in om een nieuwe cd op te nemen. Wanneer 
deze verschijnt is vooralsnog onduidelijk. Op 9 april 2018 werd 
bekend dat Lindsey Buckingham de band verlaat, met welke 
reden is niet bekend.
