Post Description

In a routine story that might be enigmatic to anyone outside of Venezuela and maybe a few inside as well, a Texaco foreman named Montoya is having one difficulty after another. In the company, his behavior is taken to task, and guerrillas are blowing up the oil pipelines again (the setting is the 1960s, before the oil companies were nationalized). At home, his son is at odds with himself, and his wife is seeing another man. Just as Montoya seems to be heading for a crash in one way or another, so is the country as a whole.
