*** The legendary American screenwriter and the director of John Carpenter at the age of 66 years decided to move in electronic music after David Lynch. In an asset of the director such cult movies as: "Something", "Escape from New York", "The person from a star", "A big alarm in small China" "Vampires", etc. It is known that John having music education quite often itself I created soundtracks to the pictures. The author says that work on a record of "Lost Themes" brought him a lot of pleasure: "To what I got used — to do music over the image — not always brought satisfaction. Now there was no pressure, there were no the actors asking that they have to do, there was no the expecting team and it wasn't necessary to go to the assembly. It is a pleasure. I tried to make music more integral and finished. Nothing limited mood and length of tracks. It is absolutely new world for me". ***

*** John Howard Carpenter (Carthage (New York), 16 januari 1948) is een Amerikaans filmregisseur, scenarioschrijver, producent, acteur en componist van filmmuziek. Hij wordt door velen beschouwd als de grootste regisseur van moderne horror, hoewel hij ook films in een aantal andere genres heeft gemaakt.

Zijn films worden gekenmerkt door minimalistische verlichting en fotografie, trage camerabewegingen en zijn filmmuziek, die hij bijna altijd zelf schrijft. Hij zegt als filmmaker te zijn beïnvloed door Alfred Hitchcock, Howard Hawks en The Twilight Zone. ***
